AC Replacement in St. Petersburg

Time to Make a Change

Your AC unit is not meant to last forever. Eventually, you will start to notice your home is never cool enough and your energy bills are higher than they should be. When this happens, it’s time to make a change. For your AC replacement in St. Petersburg, your home deserves nothing less than the best service from qualified professionals. Here’s how Blair’s can help you identify when you need a new unit and how we provide our expertise to make sure you have the right AC system installed for your home.

When You Need a New AC

In Florida, a functional HVAC system is essential. To prevent being stuck in an uncomfortable situation, you should be able to identify the signs that your AC needs replaced. Here are some of the signs of wear and tear you should look out for.

Your Unit is Over Eight Years Old

All AC units have a lifespan. Generally, your HVAC will last for around eight to twelve years. Once it reaches that age, it can become less efficient and struggle to meet your home’s cooling demands. If your unit is twelve years old or older, it’s time to replace it with a new one.

Your Home Is Never Cool Enough

Uncomfortable temperatures and foggy windows are some of the most common signs that your air conditioning system isn’t working as it should. If you notice your AC running non-stop or frequently turning on and off, that could signify that it’s not able to cool your home as effectively as it used to. To combat high temperatures and humidity, you should replace your old AC unit with a new one.

Your HVAC System Breaks Down Frequently

If your AC has been making strange noises or you’ve had to replace many broken parts, it could be on its last leg. Clanging or clunking sounds indicate that your unit is broken and needs professional maintenance. If you’ve been experiencing frequent AC breakdowns, it could be a better use of your money to invest in a new unit.

Save Money With Your AC Replacement in St. Petersburg

When you switch your old AC out for a new one, you can save money on your bills and maintenance in the long run. Newer HVACs are a lot more energy efficient than older units. They will be able to remove more heat and humidity from your home without the expense of extra energy. By switching to a newer unit, you could save more on your energy bills in the long run.

You could also save money on a newer unit due to lower costs in maintenance. Older ACs that have a lot of wear and tear tend to break down more frequently. By investing in a new system, you could save yourself the cost of more broken parts and repair in the future. If you are ready for your AC replacement in St. Petersburg, don’t hesitate to contact us.

How to Find the Right Unit for Your AC Replacement

For the most efficient cooling, you need to match your air conditioning system to your home’s needs. HVACs come in all different sizes, settings, ratings, and more. It can be overwhelming for homeowners to know which unit is right for them, but we’re here to help. Here are a few things you should keep in mind when looking for your AC replacement in St. Petersburg.
The Size of Your Home
When you’re looking for a new HVAC system, you should take into account the size of your home. A larger house will need a larger unit so it can keep up with the cooling demands. However, if you have a smaller space, a large AC unit will frequently turn on and off and won’t effectively remove heat.
Central v. Mini-Split
There are generally two types of air conditioning systems: central and mini-split. They both consist of indoor and outdoor units, but central ACs require ductwork whereas a mini-split does not. Whichever one you choose depends on your personal preference and your home’s needs.
SEER Rating
All air conditioning units include a SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating. This number determines the unit’s efficiency over a cooling period. As of 2022, all units require a SEER rating of 15 or higher, or a SEER2 rating of 14 and higher, to be installed. The higher the rating, the better.
Trusty Manufacturer
When you are shopping for your new unit, you want to purchase from a brand you can trust. Ideally, they would have good ratings and a solid warranty to protect your purchase. If you are uncertain about which AC manufacturer is right for you, our expert technicians can recommend the best options for your home.
Variable Speeds
One setting you should search for in a new HVAC system is variable speeds. Having a variety of speeds allows the AC to respond to the environment inside your home, which means it will only run when it needs to. This will be more effective at removing heat and humidity, and save you money over time.
