Position Description and Requirements

Looking for experienced Residential HVAC Service Technicians to join our team! We service Pinellas and Hillsborough counties with residential and lite commercial needs. Technicians perform repairs and preventative maintenance to keep our customers systems running efficiently. Our technicians are empowered to be retail salespersons in the field. You will earn an hourly rate AND commission will add to your gross income.

Position Description and Requirements

Blair’s HVAC service technician installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential and light commercial settings. This requires customer service, technical skills, and problem-solving. Blair’s technicians are empowered to be salespeople in the field, offering repair or replacement options for our customers.

To be successful in this role, customer satisfaction, safety, and comfort should be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be patient and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.

HVAC Technician Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing malfunctions
• Performing routine maintenance and identifying risks
• Cleaning, adjusting, replacing parts, and repairing systems
• Performing warranty services
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.

Additional Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

• Performing the first start-up for air conditioning systems, ventilation, and equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements.
• Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Reporting any faulty equipment, problematic calls, or issues to the Supervisor.
• Assisting with customers’ queries.
• Maintaining the company image by keeping a clean van and personal working appearance.

HVAC Technician Requirements

• An understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
• Able to lift, push, or pull equipment up to 70 pounds regularly
• Able to keep a clean driver’s license
• Keep an up-to-date EPA Type II or universal certification.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
• Able to work after hours and on-call over weekends as per the rotation on the call schedule.
• Able to work in confined spaces.
• Willing to keep knowledge current by attending classes both in person and virtual training, and share knowledge with new technicians for maximum team improvement.
